Part 09 [Venice] - Honeymooners in Venice

Ahhh i'm feeling pretty bummed out because leon's laptop recently was sent for repairs and our honeymoon videos for venice + paris was already partially edited by me but i didn't manage to complete it and during the repairs the files were all wiped out!!! )))':

So saaaaaad, so now i can never complete our honeymoon vlog series.
Regretting not backing them up in my external harddisk earlier, thank god the rest of the wedding stuff and photos are backed up!

The #FideLeonLuneDeMiel series is here:

Venice is gorgeous! Whoa but I constantly wondered how people handle the cold like it's nothing, hahaha sometimes i feel a chilly feeling even looking back at our honeymoon photos and i remember how cold it was and how i was such a klutz and kept losing my gloves and having to buy new ones.

But i do miss cuddling with my paddington hubbaaaaay in the cold thou! Hahahah i call this coat of leon's the paddington cos it's so puffy and huggable!!

Kind of missing my hair colour here which my stylist from Clover Hair Boutique did for my wedding!

We had lunch at Dal Moro's - Fresh Pasta To Go, it was SO good! It was literally a teenie weenie shop in the middle of nowhere, but leon is a great navigator so we got there with no problems hahaha

I kept telling leon ahhh, you're so good with directions that we missing out on all the good stuff! Don't people always say that when you get lost in Venice that's where you discover all the amazing stuff? haha

Calle De La Casseleria, 5324 | Castello, 30122 Venice, Italy

We tried 2 different types, Arrabiata and Pesto. Both are really good!!

Gelato gelato!

Ze greedy hubby!

Awww enjoying our gelato with this gorgeous view.

We also went for a gondola ride which was like freaking 80euros btw and we didn't know they will not sing for you unless you top up like another 100euros or something? Raaaah felt kinda disappointed!! But in the end Leon sang really loudly on the once we realized he's so not gonna sing. Lol who needs the gondola dude to sing, my hubbay can sing for me, humpf!

The very next day.. it was flooding due to high tide in the morning so we had to buy these ugly rubbery temporary rain booties to walk around, it's crazy how the people live there, how do you get ANYWHERE to like school or work when it's flooding every single day and many paths are totally flooded and you can't access them even in these rain booties thingy.

We went to the Murano Glass tour and we were crazy enough to buy this handmade murano glassware set for $1500SGD.

Yes, I DO NOT KNOW WHAT GOT INTO OUR HEADS!!! HAHAHAHAHA 1500SGD.. This is called the CRAZY HONEYMOON SPLURGE.

St. Mark's square

We went up to the bell tower at St Mark's Square and it was SOOOO UNBELIEVABLY COLD!

That night, we took the overnight sleeper train to Paris! To be continued...

#FideLeon Lune De Miel // Part 09 - Honeymooners at Venice

Hello!

Wheeee this is part 09 of #FideLeonLuneDeMiel! :)

Part 02 [London] - Drugstore beauty hauls, National History Museum
Part 03 [London] - Road Tripping to The Cotswold, South Central England
Part 04 [London] -  Exploring Chipping Campden, The Cotswold + Harry Potter Studios Tour

Part 06 [London] - Portobello Market + Covent Garden!
Part 07 [Zurich]  - Awesome Apartment stay at Tricia's place
Part 08 [Zurich] - Day Trippin' to the Snow capped swiss alps - Mount Tilis

We took a train bright and early from Zurich and transfer at milan to get to Venice!

Seat 61 which is a site that provides train travel information and advice was super helpful and It really saved me a ton of research on which train to take and which website to book and thru and essential information on different train stations.

Grabbed a couple of croissants at the bakery at Zurich HB and waiting for our trains, while waiting for our train to arrive (brrrrrr, it was freeeeezing and wanted to get more snacks for the train ride since we have the whole morning on the train.) and look what we found in the vending machine!

Swiss Cannabis iced tea, like WEED TEA?! Swiss people get high from vending machines?! hahaha i wish we have that in Singapore too, meh!

So after hours on the train we finaaaally arrived at Venezia S. Lucia train station! Like finally.

From the front of the train station we bought our water bus tickets and boarded the water bus and off we go! Weird fact of why we picked Venice as one of our honeymoon location in europe, I actually wanted to go to Venice because of Water 7 in One Piece! hahaha but it was inspired by Venice of course.

We stayed at this charming little hotel, AD Place Venice http://www.adplacevenice.com/

This was the only hotel we stayed in for the length of our honeymoon! We were airbnb-ing the whole way and it was so fun to meet all of our warm local airbnb host(s) who gave us tonnes of great advice the whole way.

Love how this ultra bling gold sofa looks not how it feels when i sit on it hahaha. I guess in countries with cold weather it's fine since most of the time you're piling on layers and layers of clothing but in hot ass singapore i think my sweaty butt will just be stuck on that sofa's surface. GROSS!

We had some space in our room to store and open our luggage, thank god cos we are not light packers and we need like a zillion things for like a 2 night stay hahaha.

By the time we checked in, rest up a little it was about 5pm and TOTALLY dark out already so we followed the recommendation from the hotel concierge and went to this little restaurant near the hotel to grab some grub!

The waitress recommended this appetizer, I have no idea what it's called but we literally went WHAT THE HECK DID I JUST EAT?! The octopus is bloody huge, and it's not like the japanese version which is dainty and dripping with that delicious sweet sauce? This version is like HUGE and super chewy, no sauce/taste and i almost gagged eating that. hahaha

Oh but after that really weird appetizer, our mains were starting to look reeeeeeal good. Ahhhh I really kinda miss the pasta that we had there!

My tuna steak, was hands down one of the best I've had, no kidding.

This is how my hubby looks to me 90% of the time. I think he bears a slight resemblance to that octopus guy, Davy Jones in Pirates of the Carribeans, hmmm i wonder why. hahaha

Oh we were taking a short walk after dinner (it was bloody freezing so no long walks boo) and we saw this and we were like oh OK... the mannequins in Europe have to have their junks out in the open in this cold freezing weather? hahahaa

#TheLuckiestChickReviews: Sulwhasoo award-winning serum!

Thursday, July 09, 2015

Do you know that Ginseng is the most cherished ingredient for Korean women's beauty?
I've personally never been to Korea (it's in my bucket list, and I want to go there soon soon soon! I think i will buy afew luggage worth of makeup and skincare back home hahaha) but i've always known that people would go to Korea to buy Ginseng cos in Korea it's pretty cheap and are also of high quality!

nadnut and I was recently invited to check out Sulwhasoo 100th global store, and the first flagship store in the ASEAN region at Capitol Singapore- you know, that gorgeous hitorical building opposite Raffles City?

Other than being able to get Sulwhasoo products at the flagship store, they also provide beauty programs (price of Sulwhasoo beauty programs starting from S$100 - S$280) at their beauty cabins, i would love to try one of their beauty programs one of these days!

I've heard of Sulwhasoo and saw them at the airport/departmental store previously, but i've never actually tried their products previously even though i've heard good reviews about their products such as the First Care Activating Serum EX!

This award winning product has retained it's No. 1 position on the bestseller list for the past 18 YEARS since it's debut, crazy or not? Must try!

The media kit is so so sooooo gorgeous!

I was hesitant to try their products previously, because I'm usually not a fan of the ginseng smell, because it just so.. oh-so-oriental to me. So far I've tried the Sulwhasoo Basic Kit for a week (consisting of the Essential Balancing Water, First Care Activating Serum EX, Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream)

I was experiencing some craaaaazy ass breakouts on my cheeks and chin previously when i was on a vacation in Bangkok for a week (it was way way way too hot there!) before i started testing these Sulwhasoo products, and I felt that it really helped calm down my skin! I definitely wouldn't say that my skin is perfect now, but at least it has stopped breaking out and is in it's normal state now haha

The smell wise, I'm quite surprised by myself but i feel like i'm starting to enjoy it. The Essential Balancing Water and award-winning First Care Activating Serum EX actually smells really nice to me right now!

Upon application both the Essential Balancing Water and First Care Activating Serum EX gets absorbed into the skin pretty quickly, and leaves my skin hydrated and feeling fresh.

Because i have oily skin, I'm not using the emulsion but I'm actually using the Concentrated Ginseng Renewing Cream in my under eye area in place of an actual eye cream, I don't know if it's my own imagination, but i feel that my eye area is much more hydrated and my fine lines in the inner corner of my eyes are not as pronounced as before!

I'll continue to use it on my eyes and see how it goes! :P

But for now, I think i would definitely purchase these 3 items from the basic range when i run out!

Sulwhasoo Boutique
Opening hours - 1030am to 10pm
Capitol Building
15 Stamford Road #01-72/73 S(178906)

Sulwhasoo is also available at Tangs Orchard, Tangs Vivocity,
Robinson The Heeren and Takashimaya.

TheLuckiestChick turns into a 新娘秘書 in Taipei!

Monday, May 11, 2015

OMG! I'm so excited! I'm in Taiwan for one month in May for a Make Up Artist course!!!

It's just something I've thought of doing for the longest time, but previously due to work.. stress.. well, life happened and my wants and my plans was just constantly being pushed back, and last year when I did our wedding photo shoot in Taichung and my 新娘秘書 (so cute right, i don't know why they call MUAs 新娘秘書 in Taiwan) really impressed the HECK out of me.

I really love the makeup style and the airy gorgeous hairstyles that she did for me, we did the photo shoot in July, right smack in the SUMMER i was literally a hot sweaty gross mess and my 新娘秘書 managed to clean me up SO WELL, in the melting heat outdoors with her magic hands she managed to change my hairdo into a gorgeous fluffy airy look, it was like freaking MAGIC to me. So I thought if i'm going to learn, I want to learn from them so I can learn the techniques and skills that I was so impressed with and bring that skills right back with me to Singapore.

I also want ze magic hands!!! (:

At the same time I was feeling kinda scared before i came here. Hahaha it's gonna be the first time I'll be alone in another country for an entire month! I think I used to be really independent and will not be fazed by such a thing in a past, it's just been less than 6 months since we got married and spending so much time together, I'm grown to be so super sticky with Leon!

Massive clouds kinda day!

My airfare was $240 which is considered on the cheap side since i remember even when we fly on budget air previously it was like almost $500 per person every time. But the thing is, literally one day ago Leon and I took advantage of the Easter promotion and booked a short trip to Taipei for 20-24th April and it was $240 for the BOTH OF US!

The day after I confirmed my attendance at the school in Taipei and booked my air ticket, i could hardly sleep because i was so excited + scared + CRAZY! I slept at 4am and woke up at 8am and started apartment hunting, because i was so scared that i can't find a place at a decent price and I would have to settle and live in a crappy, shitty apartment.

I didn't want to live in a hotel either because I guess I hope to make some friends when I'm there if not i'll be so alone! (I know a bunch of Leon's concert touring Taiwanese friends but I'm not exactly friends, friends with them right?) And i didn't want to live in a typical hostel although that's probably the easiest way to meet people and make friends but i just can't handle the hostel type accommodation? I need my space too! And what about my belongings hahah I have a million things I need on a daily basis.

I feel like I really 找到宝 for my accommodation!

I'll be staying at this 2 apartments which is 3 mins away from ZhongXiaoFuXing station and just 15 mins away from my school, of course to stay for an extended period it's still quite costly but for short stays I think it's a freaking steal la! And although it's totally en-suite, there's still a common area for people to read and chat so i might meet people and make friends that way too? (hopefully? haha) And it looks pretty darn sweet to me! I like that it's very bright and has lots of natural light. (:

So many shitty Ximending hotels charging like $90-$130 for a WINDOWLESS room these days 不值得! Feels so claustrophobic not being able to have sunlight streaming in anytime of the day, sadly it seems like the hotels in Taiwan is not thaaaat cheap anymore, I remember before we can always find really good accomodation at a small scale hotel/inn in Ximending for like $50 a night!

So far.. my classes have been SUPER FUN! it's my first time doing any sort of hairstyles so it was a refreshing change for me learning something so so so new and I'm really enjoying and having fun while learning the braid techniques and hairdos.

I've been enjoying looooots of great food just nearby my apartment that I'm staying at-

First meal in Taiwan: 红烧牛肉面! shiok shiok shiok!
The beef is so so tender and full of flavor!!!

Delicious matcha waffle to nibble!
Isn't that Unicorn/Rainbow/Lightning bolt pouch the cutest?!

Lunching at Muji Cafe! Seriously i love the food so much! How can simple food be so perfect? Everything is wonderful about this meal, even the yuzu drink is freaking refreshing and really good.

So far I've met my reader Seow Ting here and we hung out for a day last week and I really had epic fun! If you're coming to Taiwan this month let me know, I'd love to meet more people here!
So excited that Felicia & Shirley is coming over to taiwan in 2 weeks to play with me hehe! :D
I'm kinda in a bad situation right now because my new iphone6 is soaked in rainwater and is totally busted now and I've just left it at the handphone repair shop and i really hope it will be alright, if not i'm dooooomed!

More updates soon.
